The scene of St. Margaret's arrest
Images taken from St. Margaret Clitherow's Trial
The Earl of Huntingdon arrives in York to crack down on the Catholics.
Among other things, the Earl demanded that John Clitherow and his neighbours spy upon and report to him any Catholic activity amongst their neighbours and families.
The scene of St. Margaret's execution by crushing. A small stone was placed under her back. A heavy door was put on top of her and heavy weights were added on top of the door so that within 15 minutes Saint Margaret was crushed to death. Her last words were "Jesu, Mercy".
Saint Margaret's story is beautiful and powerful. We have filmed one hundred percent of the visuals and have narrated the presentation from Saint Margaret's point of view to give the viewer a personal encounter with the Saint and her life. With beautiful exterior visuals, historical characters and sets, the presentation will be about one hour in length and like our production of Saint Edmund Campion looks set to be a poignant and important encounter with the life, witness and death of an English Catholic Marty. Saint Margaret's love of the Catholic church and loyalty and protection of hunted Catholic priests and her death for the Catholic faith is extremely important. She is one of our great women martyrs and sets an inspiring example for Catholic Christians today.
