Like Saint Edmund Campion this young priest and Martyr's story is a gripping, moving and powerful tale of daring and sacrifice during a dangerous time in England's history. This biography intends to present his story as a powerful encounter with one of our English heroes. Saint Margaret Clitherow's life and martyrdom for the Roman Catholic faith is a powerful witness for the priesthood and fidelity to the Church. This young woman's story is here presented in a beautiful production using well-planned original sets and narration. An original documentary that tells the account of Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury who was born at Castle Farley, near Bath in 1473. She was martyred at East Smithfield Green 1541. In custody she was committed to Cowdray Park, near Midhurst in West Sussex, and removed to the tower of London where she was beheaded after two years imprisonment. With stills and original footage of Cowdry today, this document is scored and narrated to introduce you to a great English Blessed. Her story follows her life and miracles culminating in her founding a famous Abbey in Ely of which she was Abbess. Her body was incorrupt for centuries until her Shrine was destroyed during the Protestant revolution in England. Saint Wilfrid was a Roman Catholic Bishop of Saxon England whose life and witness for the Church has a message of his insistance to loyalty to the Pope and the Church of Rome. He was the Apostle of Sussex and his story is presented using historical imagery, drama and narration. Saint Alban is England's first Roman Catholic Martyr for the faith. The important witness of a Catholic priest so impressed this young pagan soldier that he converted and became a Christian. He died for his faith and his story is strewn with miracles and inpsiration for the Catholic Chistians of today. This DVD presents St. Alban's life with drama, historical imagery, original footage and absorbing narration. The City of Chichester in West Sussex is an ancient Catholic Diocese founded in 1075. The Cathedral was completed and consecrated in 1184. John Christopherson was the last Catholic Bishop and the relics of Saint Richard were once enshrined and venerated there. Saint Richard was a friend and Chancellor of Saint Edmund and died in 1253. After Henry VIII usurped the Cathedral and destroyed the shrine of Saint Richard in 1538, the Cathedral has remained an Anglican Cathedral and the whereabouts of Richard's relics are unknown. This Documentary gives us a little glimpse of our Saint John Fisher who was martyred for the Faith in 1535 at Tower Hill. With beautiful images, narration and music, this short film sets the foundation for further devotion and study of a great Saint of the British Isles.
