A film about Saint Simon Stock - a 13th Century Englishman who joined the Carmelite Order and was here given a great gift for the Christian world.  He first left his family to become a hermit whereupon he lived an austere life in the hollow of a tree - thus earning the surname of 'stock'.  But he was called by God to leave his hermitage so as to join the Carmelites who had just entered England from Palestine.
