Filmed on location at Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in West Grinstead, and presented by Catholic broadcaster and journalist Joanna Bogle, this documentary shows the history of an ancient place of pilgimage in West Sussex with interviews and beautiful images to inspire devotion and a visit.
Talk with Fr David Goddard the Custodian of the Shrine, and learn about the Secret Chapel, the priest holes and how this beautiful and historic place stayed untouched during the ruthless dismantling of many monasteries, shrines and churches under the reformation.
Flash back in time and listen to the voice of blessed Francis Bell who hid at the shrine during the reformation and whose relics the shrine now holds. Visit with Hillaire Beloc as he wanders the grounds praying along the rosary way and whose grave is situated in the beautiful and quaint graveyard there.
