She was a woman of prayer, a mystic who bore the stigmata, an advocate for the common good, a striking teacher of the role of the Papacy and the Pope; she persuaded the Avignon Papal Court to return to Rome and wrote letters to people of all ranks and dispositions to challenge and lead them to the Truth.
