From Mary’s Dowry Productions is a NEW media format offered now on Audio CD that presents the biographical narrative and music soundtrack from the 2012 Catholic film ‘Saint Edmund Arrowsmith’.
Born Brian Arrowsmith in 1585, this future missionary priest and Martyr began life in Lancashire. His Catholic parents refused to attend Protestant services and he was raised in the outlawed Catholic Faith. Called to the priesthood, he left England at age 21 and attended the English College at Douai, where he was confirmed, taking the name Edmund. In June 1613 he returned to Lancashire as a priest where he spent 15 years on the English mission. Having been drawn to join the Jesuits after making the Spiritual Exercises when he was a student at Douai, he joined the Society in 1623 and continued his pastoral ministry. A young lapsed Catholic man betrayed Fr Edmund to the police, and although Saint Edmund Arrowsmith attempted to flee, he was captured. He was convicted of being a priest, which was a crime of high treason. After only two days imprisoned in a cell so small he could barely sit, and after making his last Confession to St John Southworth, he was taken to a place of execution where he was hanged drawn and quartered. He is a Saint and English Martyr.
In this NEW Audio CD the life and mission of Saint Edmund Arrowsmith is told as taken from the 2012 FILM.
