Saint Francis de Sales:

Saint Francis de Sales is known for his deep Faith, his zeal for the conversion of souls, especially the Calvinists of his region, his famous writings on the spiritual life and especially his writings for Catholic lay men and women seeking to become Saints while living in the world.

He founded the religious order of nuns with Saint Jane de Chantal called The Visitandine Sisters. He was friends with Saint Vincent de Paul and he served as Bishop of Geneva where he devised an ingenious leafleting campaign that distributed information about the teachings of the Church to all people of the region, thus, united with his prayers, this great work brought about the conversion of over 70,000 Protestants to the Catholic Church.

During his life he was the target of assassination attempts, slept in hay lofts, wrote profusely, gave stirring sermons, had a great love for Saint Francis of Assisi and has left us important classic Catholic literature and inspiring letters.

In this new film we look at the life of Saint Francis de Sales from his early years to his holy death with the great example his whole life has left for us today.

With quotes from ‘The Introduction to the Devout Life’ and several letters between Saint Francis and Saint Jane, this film is an informative and devotional journey with two great Saints of the Catholic Church.
