Saint Francis of Assisi is one of the most well-known Saints of the Catholic Church, popular throughout the world for founding a religious order known as The Franciscans as well as for rejecting the wealth and honours of his family so as to live a radical life contrary to the secular world. He was called by Our Lord to rebuild the Church which was falling into ruin and after reconstructing the buildings of the local churches around him, Saint Francis came to understand that God wished for him to remind people of the Gospel and bring them back to the Truths of the Catholic Church, the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar and to reject the deceptions and temptations of the passing world. He was best friends with Saint Clare of Assisi and received the Wounds of Christ’s Passion in his body. In this film by Mary’s Dowry Productions, Saint Francis of Assisi tells us the story of his life, looking especially at the mysteries of his stigmata and his relevance today.
