Saint Francisco of Fatima:
Canonised with his sister Jacinta in 2017 during the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, Saint Francisco Marto was one of three children chosen by God to receive the message of Our Lady of Fatima for the world in 1917. A Portuguese shepherd boy, Saint Francisco was, like his sister and cousin Lucia, able to see Our Lady during each of the six apparitions above the holm oak in Fatima but he was unable to hear her. Lucia and Jacinta relayed Our Lady’s messages to him and as the first receptor of the message of Our Lady of Fatima he lived it to the fullest. Of little Saint Francisco, Our Lady said that he must pray many rosaries, to which he responded, “Oh my dear Lady, I will pray as many rosaries as you wish.” His short life was profoundly affected by his encounters with Our Lady and he was especially drawn to contemplate God. He longed for Our Lord to be loved and, having been told by Our Lady that he would die young, Francisco spent his days before the Blessed Sacrament rather than attending school. Saint Francisco kept his word to Our Lady and prayed many, many rosaries as well as offering great sacrifices. He has left us a great witness of how to respond to and love the message of Fatima which is especially significant for our times. Saint Francisco Marto died when he was eleven years of age in 1919. He was beatified in the year 2000.
Our unique film style has been internationally praised for not only presenting facts and biographical information but an authentically Catholic and prayerful film experience.
