Saint Joan of Arc:

A Catholic Saint and Heroine of France, Saint Joan of Arc received visions from Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine of Alexandria. As a young woman of prayer she shows us the power of perseverance in our intentions to respond to grace. Although she wished to remain hidden in her simple French life, against great odds she led a French army in battle of the English. Her example of purity in the military camps impressed many. She drove prostitutes from the camps with her famous sword and showed the soldiers how to pray, especially by her devotion to the Mass. Although she was eventually arrested and wrongly tried for witchcraft, her bravery and devotions moved many. Saint Therese of Lisieux had a great love for Saint Joan and penned poems, prayers and plays in her honour. We look at Saint Joan’s life and mission as well as the many Saints of our times devoted to her.
